Bravecto is a tasty chewable tablet for dogs which protects against fleas and ticks during up to 12 weeks. The active ingredient in Bravecto is fluralaner. Fluralaner has a flea-killing and tick-killing effect. The fluralaner is absorbed into the bloodstream after taking the chewable tablet. Fleas and ticks attach to your dog and begin to feed. As a result they are exposed to the active ingredient and the effect occurs within 8 hours (fleas) to 12 hours (ticks). The effect against fleas and ticks will last 12 weeks. The effect against the tick R. sanguineus however, lasts only 8 weeks. Because the active ingredient is inside your dog, you don’t come into contact with it when you stroke your dog. Your dog can also swim or be washed without the effect becoming less. Bravecto chewable tablets should be administered during or around a meal.
