For your supreme viewing pleasure is this vintage Ludwig 5×14 No. 231 All-Around model Super Ludwig snare drum from the 1920s. It’s in beautiful condition with a few very small dings. This is a heavy two-piece brass shell with welded back bearing edges. The nickel plated shell and hardware has all aged beautifully including the “Super Ludwig” stamped bottom hoop. All clips are intact with no cracks. The Super-Ludwig snare control is fully functional, and the extension arm is a professionally made replacement which looks great and is fully functional. A drum key holder was added at some point, possibly at the factory, which has since been removed with two screws installed where the holes were drilled. It still has the original gut snares, and modern heads that fit well. Truly a stunning piece of drum history. This would equally be at home amongst the finest of collections, studios, and stages.
