Description A blanc de noirs style still white wine made from Blaufränkisch, from the Leitha Range in Burgenland, Austria. Orange rind and cardamom spice on the nose, with a clean, mineral freshness that speaks clearly of the fossil-rich limestone soils. Brisk acidity carries the palate through to a long, mineral finish. Wonderful with smoked fish, sushi or soft-rinded cheeses. Made by Gernot and Heike Heinrich from hand-picked, whole-cluster pressed grapes, spontaneously fermented in amphorae and large neutral oak barrels, matured on its own yeasts for 10 months, then bottled unfiltered without the addition of sulphur.
