Description Tenuta Viglione Falanghina Maioliche is an organic, unoaked Falanghina from the borderlands of Puglia and Basilicata, vinified in stainless steel to preserve the variety’s natural freshness and aromatic character. Pale straw yellow with golden glints, with an appealing nose of fresh apricot, lemon, and apple. The palate is pleasantly structured with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, and flavours of vanilla, acacia honey, quince, and citrus fruits that give it more depth than the light colour suggests. A natural partner for fresh seafood dishes. Tenuta Viglione is a family-run organic estate sitting on the border of Puglia and Basilicata, close to the historic town of Matera and Gioia del Colle. The soils are a mix of clay, limestone, and ancient marine fossils from when this land lay beneath the sea, lending the wines a freshness and minerality that is central to their character. The Maioliche range, named after the traditional Italian pottery style and recognisable by its tile-inspired labels, focuses entirely on indigenous Puglian varieties. Falanghina is one of southern Italy’s most characterful white grapes, believed to be among the oldest varieties in the region. Here it is handled with a light touch, fermented cool in steel to let the fruit speak clearly without oak intervention. Organic certified 12.5% / 75cl
