I CACCIAGALLI AORIVOLA FALANGHINA 2023

$ 26.38

Description Textured and juicy with aromas of rose, preserved lemon, wet stone and lime leaf, this is a complex and genuinely characterful white with a long, fresh finish and a true sense of place. Try it with seafood, grilled fish, light pasta or simply on its own as an aperitif. I Cacciagalli is a small, family-run biodynamic estate at the foot of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano in northern Campania, founded by agronomist Diana Iannaccone and her husband Mario Basco, a former archaeologist turned winemaker. The estate spans 42 hectares of farmland, 12 of which are given over to vines, with the rest planted to hazelnut groves, olive trees and seasonal crops, surrounded by a further 50 hectares of unfarmed woodland. The focus is on native Campanian varieties handled with minimal intervention: fermentations use indigenous yeasts, sulphur is kept to a minimum, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. A distinctive feature of the estate is its use of amphorae, which allow the wines to develop gently while preserving their purity and connection to the volcanic soils beneath. Grape: Falanghina. Campania, Italy. Certified biodynamic. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, unfined and unfiltered. 12%
